More Season 3 Titles and Summaries

Awhile back I posted the first five episode titles and descriptions for season 3. Today we’ve got more. Check it out:

  • Episode 6 - Homewrecker (airing 10/29) - Marshall wants to buy a home and Lily doesn’t want to tell Marshall about her credit card debt.
  • Episode 7 - I’m Not That Guy (airing 11/5) - coming soon

I’m trying to find a description for E7 but no luck so far. The plot of E6 has been discussed by the creators in interviews concerning the new season earlier this year. Turns out either Bay or Thomas (I get those two skalywags confused) bought a house recently and wanted to write that into the show for Lily and Marshall (who, like Ted, are based on the creators and their lives.)

What do we think? Is it going to be legendary?

Silver Screen Watch: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Update

kristenbellmarshall.jpgThe illegal rum-runners over at CHUD have visited the set of Jason Segel’s upcoming movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall which he wrote and stars in. If you don’t know what that is, shame on you. They’ve got the scoop on his co-stars Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and a new actor named Russell Brand, and everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Judd Apatow’s Lakers tickets.

Look for Forgetting Sarah Marshall to arrive in theaters in May 2008.

PS. This entry was mostly an excuse to post this picture. Rawr!

Season 3 Premiere Discussion: This is so going in my blog!

Happy Marshall
This was how I looked while watching tonight’s premiere.

So, there it is, “Wait for It”, the season premiere. Despite what other reviewers said, I loved this episode. We did pick up with the “-dary” from last season, but kept going right past it, this whole episode moved at a good clip. We saw Ted making hilariously bad decisions, we saw Barney get jealous over how seriously Ted takes his friendship, we saw Marshall and Lily put ball busting above sensitivity for Ted’s new…art, and we saw a pretty big clue for who the mother might be. I can’t contain the awesome so spoilers might follow. Continue reading…

We only have to “Wait for It” for a couple more hours

s3e1-mandymooretedbarney.jpg

Tonight at 8pm it finally happens: “Wait for It”, the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother. I’m excited. Are you excited? Get excited. I should feel ripples of psych-age tear through my body!

OK, not that excited, calm down sweetheart. Joel Keller at TVSquad isn’t too enthused about tonight’s episode. But as the commenters say, any episode is good to have.

What do you think? Will it be good? Bad? Legendary? I’ll be participating in a live chat either during or directly after the episode with Ben from How I Met Your Blog and you can be sure I’ll be posting my thoughts and opinions concerning the episode ASAP. Stop by for a nice discussion, you know where to find me.

Silver screen watch: Jason Segel in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”

segel-bell.jpg

Jason Segel (Marshall, if you didn’t know) has a movie coming out which he not only stars in, but has written as well. It’s called Forgetting Sarah Marshall and we can expect to see it hit theaters in May 2008.

Assuming you haven’t been living in a cave for the past couple years, you should recognize many of his co-stars. The list includes Jonah Hill (Superbad), Paul Rudd (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up), Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Mila Kunis (That 70s Show), Bill Hader (SNL, The Brothers Solomon), and Kristen Wiig (SNL, Knocked Up).

Kristen Bell plays the titular character (that’s not what that means you perv, look it up). Oh man, I’m there. I’d pay $10 to watch her read the phone book because you know it’d be sassy. The list of attractive young females appearing in the movie goes on and on which leads me to believe Segel will be following in the footsteps of collaborators Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen by making a sex-heavy adolescent comedy. And I love him for it.

And why wouldn’t he? The three of them have been working together forever. Segel was a major on Freaks and Geeks (which you’ve all seen, right?) with Rogen, James Franco, and Linda Cardellini—a show Apatow created. Segel, Rogen, and Apatow also worked together on Undeclared and Knocked Up. It is due to Apatow, in fact, that almost all the young talent in Hollywood today is connected, which means Segel will surely have many more opportunities in his future.

If you’ve never seen Freaks and Geeks, shame on you. Now go watch the credits which are awesome and feature a hilariously young Segel.

A New Website for How I Met Your Mother

newhimymsite.jpg

CBS has a new ‘alpha’ site up for How I Met Your Mother. It’s beautiful, with big images and video. The site is part of a cooperative ad campaign with CBS and Cadillac to add sophistication to the new fall premieres. This is one of many alternative advertising techniques Cadillac is using this year.

I have to say, I think Cobie Smulders is a very beautiful woman, but photos of her have always left me wanting more. There’s something about her that seems to require movement to appreciate. The picture above (and several others from that site) are the first I’ve seen that do her justice.

Speaking of images, the hero image on the main page of the group in a white-washed bathroom captures the entire show in a single frame. Barney in the tub ala Pineapple Incident; Lily’s knowing look and Marshall’s disapproving glance; Robin lovingly swirling a drink; and Ted looking on, doe-eyed and in love with…the world. O bellissimo!

Credit goes to How I Met Your Blog for getting the story up first.

Robin Scherbatsky, Alcoholic

Mike Jonas, who used to sing with the shag-a-rats, has a new How I Met Your Mother blog, Robin Scherbatsky, Alcoholic, which details the Canadian’s slow decent into rampant alcoholism. Oh, and the blog will serve as a discussion forum covering the music used in the show.

If Mike’s name sounds familiar, it should. He is the man from the IMDB message boards that has single handedly taken on the task of listing each and every song used in the show. I used his data when creating my music page.

So go check Mike out and tell him JD sent you. His link will be in the sidebar from now on as well.

Season two Blooper Reel

I’m a sucker for a good blooper reel. Who isn’t? There’s something riveting about seeing actors flub lines and ham it up for the camera. If it’s a montage? Sold. I still think of the season one DVD every time I hear “Hide Another Mistake” by HIMYM’s favorite band The 88 who were found guilty on three accounts…of rocking.

Check out the season two blooper reel on the How I Met Your Mother MySpace page.
