I would rate this episode slightly above average. Some good one-liners. A good A plot and a decent B plot. It was good but didn't feel like great HIMYM. They did a good job with flashbacks and furthuring storylines and left me satisfied. You pretty much once again covered everything nicely in the review. And I'm glad Sandy didn't turn up.

Looking ahead to season vs season this probably places third, The Pineapple Incident is one of the best episodes and it solidified HIMYM as my favorite show.

I actually didn't like this one as much as I thought I was going to.

I loved Heidi Klum in it, as well as butch-Robin, but other than that I didn't feel like it flowed all that well.

I suppose I liked it, but it was just more of a "meh" kind of like for me. I thought the first Barney-centric episode in the first season was much better than this one. I liked that they all had fun, but it was just ok. Maybe it was just me being off.

After reading your synopsis and seeing it again, I thought it was definitely one of the stronger ones of the season. Things come fast, and there were probably more steps in this episode than any other previously. Great to see Fryman using that level of development in a story, instead of a lingering setup between characters.

This trend of not introducing the stuff we want to see in the intro is kinda bugging me, but I understand it - definitely an interesting way to introduce the "B" plot that we all want to see (the Barney issue - the Victoria's Secret party was totally a "C" or "D" plot line - notice how deep this episode's story went). Nothing felt too out of place - with the exception of Robin looking fugly - and it was nice to see a decent use of flashbacks.

Like I said, though, there's a reason why there's a pineapple on your logo, JD...

Nice episode! And for all those who wonder what Heidi said in german:

Ach du meine Güte, nichts klappt mehr, überhaupt gar nichts mehr, so eine Scheiße.

Oh my god, nothing is working anymore, nothing, what a sh**

Ranier, wow, good spotting. It's comforting to know that in the world of television sitcoms there is a successful beverage brand that pulls disparate storylines together.

It's less comforting that such a popular and successful brand would have such crappy design. Don't those prop guys have any respect for themselves? Rachel Ray has better fake brands on 30 minute meals.
