I thought that it could potentially be the same school year, but now that I think about it, I think you're right. The blackmail happened at Super Bowl time so it was January. If this episode took place around now, that'd be a new class. Maybe the kid stayed back? He does have a father willing to introduce him to all his girlfriends, maybe his biting caused him to repeat kindergarten? I thought about this Andy.
