Season 4 Episode 2: World’s Greatest Burger Discussion
[pictures to come on a Thursday in the future.]
Tonight we saw a moment in Marshall’s life. Much like season one saw Ted having adventures that turned him into the man he was to become, tonight Marshall had one of those maturating experiences. This wasn’t a mission to lick the Liberty Bell or help his car reach 100,000 miles, this was a mission for the World’s Greatest Burger.

Robin’s Dad Has Been Cast – Eric Braeden

TVGuide reports that in an upcoming episode we’ll get to meet Mr. Scherbatsky, whose name is also Robin.
Eric Braeden of The Young and the Restless fame has scored a gig on How I Met Your Mother, playing Robin’s father. His name? Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Sr.
The storyline set-up: As Ted and the gang hide in a restaurant from… er, someone, they each take turns recounting the one person they would most hate to run into. Robin’s pick is her pop, seeing as she has Daddy issues — in that hers always wanted her to be a boy.
I think this sounds like a fantastic episode. How perfectly HIMYM is it that Robin turns out to be named after her dad? The show does a great job saturating character’s backstories with larger-than-life moments, and Robin’s have always been some of my favorite flashbacks. I can’t wait for this.
How I Met Your Mother to Be Shown on Lifetime

Twentieth Television sold off-net sitcom How I Met Your Mother to female-focused cable network Lifetime Television for a once-per-week run starting in fall 2010.
I’m not at all happy about this. First Project Runway, now HIMYM. I respect that Lifetime’s trying to expand their reach past shitty movie-of-the-week but I wish they’d picked up a different show than How I Met Your Mother. It just doesn’t seem like a good fit. Maybe for the Lifetime of the future, but that rebranding is going to take a longer time than between now and when HIMYM stars airing.
Although, I can’t fret too much. Look at shows like Scrubs that, right now, have episodes on three or four different networks. We’ll see I guess. I was holding out for TBS.
What do you guys think?
NOTE: As far as I can tell this only refers to syndication, not first-run content. Sorry that wasn’t clear.
Update: Reader Humberto points out:
“Lifetime forked over a strapping $82.5 million (or about $750,000 an episode multiplied by 110 half hours). That’s the second biggest license fee ever ponied up by a cable network for a sitcom in the first cycle” -Variety
Well done HIMYM!
Stella’s Sister Has Been Recast

EW reports that Danneel Harris is replacing Sarah Paxton in the role of Stella’s bride-to-be-but-wait sister. They switched last minute because they wanted someone a little older for the role. Bays and Thomas love Paxton however and hope to use her in the future.
This new girl looks OK, even if she spells her name stupidly. Is she related to NPH? Maybe they just met on the set of Harold and Kumar. I think she looks a little bit country. If you Google Image Search her there are a lot of sexy pics, if you like that kind of thing.
While on the topic, I’d like to point out the eerie resemblance that Sarah Paxton has to one of the biggest HIMYM fans I know, my friend Cora. Look at this, isn’t it uncanny?
