Carter Bays: There will be eight more episodes

What a banner day for How I Met Your Mother fans. First, Marshall and Lily’s marriage is celebrated, now we’ve got the closest thing to confirmation yet concerning the strike’s end. Carter Bays, co-creator of the show, had this to say:

”We’re unbelievably stoked to be getting back to work. The chance to finish out the season is a dream come true in pretty much every way: getting our crew back on the payroll, getting our staff off the picket line and back in the writers room and, most of all, actually writing again. And doing eight more episodes will feel really good. And I couldn’t imagine a season-three DVD with just those first 11 episodes on it. Eleven episodes didn’t feel like a season. We’re TV, not HBO.”

That Bays, he’s a funny guy. Although we knew that already. I agree though, we’re all stoked for more episodes. If you look back, it is the final half dozen episodes that really bring it home at the end of every season.  What kind of monumental event are we going to see this year?

The awesome! hookup of Barney and Robin (or the revelation that it’s already happened.)
It is going to be legen(why does the supermarket put the eggs and orange juice in the same section as the)dary.

I fully expect the Abe Lincoln monument to get up from his lofty perch and walk to NYC just to point out the girl with the yellow umbrella to Ted.

What? You didn’t mean monumental literally?

    My bad. ;)

    Great news to be hearing!!

You got me. I was about to use “momentous” but decided against it. I concede.

8′s a good number. I think it’s little early for Robin and Barney, next season that should become more evident. Ted turns the big 3-0 which is important for many reasons. Barney will let him think about marriage, and the story of the goat. Oh and maybe older Ted mentions the strike and how the gang had to suffer through reality shows and American Gladiator drinking games.

“the gang had to suffer through reality shows and American Gladiator drinking games.”

One does not “suffer” through American Gladiators my friend. One relishes it, nay, swims in it’s prodigiousness!!

Wow, “prodigious”. I think that’s a Barney’s Vocab Word of the Week. Good call Jason.

I really wanted to use “lugubrious”…I’ve been wanting to use it all day, but it just doesn’t fit.

Actually the suffering did not include AMerican Gladiators because I too enjoyed it’s prodigiousness. More like Moment of Truth and Big Brother and that crap. I just know people you play drinking games while watching Gladiators and I’d think it would be hillarious to see something like that on HIMYM

When it’s a question of money, everybody is of the same religion.
