How I Met Your Mother Season 3 DVD and Some Casting News

The title is likely to be longer than this post. Just some show news I wanted to share.

The DVD set for season 3 comes out on Oct  7th, 2008. Add the date to your calendars! I’d like to give out a copy or two of this DVD but I need a contest. Any good ideas? Do you think there’d be a good turn out for a “design a slutty pumpkin costume” contest? On the DVD you’ll find:

Sarah Chalke

Ausiello seems to think that Sarah Chalke is returning for several episodes next season. I’d like to see it. She’s pretty!

Stay tuned. It’s been quiet a bit but I’ll be posting all the missing Season vs. Seasons leading up to the fall premieire. It’s going to be legendary!

Wait, Sarah Chalke is Canadian? Can this please work its way into the show?

Thats all great news. I’ve been missing the regular updates on this site, and I’ll be danged if I get time to mess with the message board. To be truthful I just don’t like the configuration..something like proboards would be better.

Thanks for the update. I can’t wait for it all. Time for a season 3 party on new years. It’s tradition. Every New Years eve we get together at about 7pm and watch the whole season until we’re done. We’ve done it 2 years in a row looking for 3.

    Exciting stuff! Thanks.

    – Vancouver’s Sarah Chalke will return for a multi-episode arc on How I Met Your Mother in the fall, ……. confirmed.

“And no, she is not the mother,” ……. quipped.

……… acknowledged that Britney Spears’ guest appearances boosted interest in the sitcom, which is heading into its fourth season this fall. She drew the line at suggestions that Spears saved the show, however.

“How I Met Your Mother didn’t need saving,” ……. said. “The show is something we’re very proud of and it’s doing great.”

    …… = someone important @ CBS

@JackAtak I chose that forum software since it integrates well with the blog and has a similar look-and-feel. I’ve used others in the past and found them a bit cumbersome. Maybe in the future I’ll expand it.

That’s a great tradition for new years! Sounds like an opportunity to participate in the HIMYM fan group!

@Motherhead As always, I wish you’d use a real email address so I could confirm the news with you. I hope it’s true what you say though!

I think a contest is a great idea! I love your idea about the Slutty Pumpkin. I’m definitely up for it!!!! Keep us updated on the contest (rules, deadline, etc). Hopefully we get enough interest. :)

why are all the commentaries for the later episodes?

  7.  Motherhead | July 23, 2008 @ 5:15 pm

@ JD In time you will learn to trust me. Once I have been proven right over and over again.

It was from a press conference. The best part about it is that is nowhere else don’t you think!

Although sometimes I will throw out a red herring but only in matters of the mother. That post is 100% real you have my word (Typed anyway).

It was on Friday so maybe in two weeks it will be everywhere.

@Motherhead I just don’t understand the clandestine drama that’s always inherent in your comments. I’d love to have a scoop on news but a line in the comments won’t do it. Shoot me an email and I’ll make a proper post about it.

“No, Bays explained. He and co-producer Craig Thomas have had “fun writing a soap opera for the past three years,” but they will wrap that up next season and begin writing episodes that are self-contained — as on most sitcoms — so newcomers to the show don’t feel like they missed out on something”

Say goodbye to us. The real fans

JD….I know this is probably a stretch, but do you by any chance know much of the music from the original episodes will preserved this time around.

As per the first two season DVD sets I thought that was a major downfall and eventually had to just download the torrents (after I bought the DVDs obviously)….losing the soundtrack can have a rather severe effect on the feel of the show. I felt like I was losing part of the reason I loved the show so much when I heard someone other than Jaymay at the end of the 2nd season DVD.
