I think that what'll happen with Ted and Stella is that they will get engaged and be together for part of season 4, it'll be like when Ted was dating Robin during season 2, but then a complication will arise much like when Lily left Marshall, except that Stella won't be back. Also, I'm kinda curious as to who the guy who knocked up Stella is. I really liked all of the flashbacks that Marshall told to try and get Robin to believe in miracles, I thought that Barney getting the pencil up his nose was one of the funniest moments in the episode. All of that "random shit" you were talking about isn't always being narrated. There are specific times when Old Ted is narrating and says "Stella and I were doing great" and not saying "Your Mom and I were doing great".
