I too thought it was a little strange that I had never heard of a maple log (having worked there for almost a year)…but then I thought it may have been one of their ‘doughnut of the month’ type things….remember the lemon drops or the triple chocolate? Sometimes they stay, sometimes they don’t. But that’s what I ended up telling myself to get over the possibiliy of a mistake…lol

Maybe the writers came to Canada and had a maple log back in 1995 or something?? lol

Am joining the convo late on this episode as I’m just getting caught up on my recorded HIMYMs.

I hate to criticize the show but there is no such thing as a “maple log” at Tim Horton’s. I loved Super Canadian Robin but when she said that, I groaned b/c they easily could have gotten it so right (maybe an “apple fritter”, an “old fashion plain” or a “snack pack of Timbits”?)

Anyway, I enjoyed the episode very much — I love the flashbacks/flashforwards.

Just thought that as far as gags and wit were concerned the burger episode was lacking. Possibly one of the worst ever. Real shame. . Bounced back though with the intervention episode. I know thats gonna draw comment But that is my opinion and I am gonna stick to it.

ok I checked the episode again

in the future scene and the writers are really evil ….
because each clue they give it could mean million of things
for example with lily not drinking the scotch

-maybe bacaue she didnt like the smell as all of them said it was not good as the regular beer that they used drink

-or it could be that she is pregnant

-or maybe she didnt want to take a sip in that particular moment !

same thing with robin ring it could mean million of things cause it was not a typical engagement ring .

p.s yes there was a mistake in the bar scene cause when the girl gets up she takes her cell phone with her . later she comes back asking about it .

I’m with almost everyone here- I loved this episode! I thought it had a lot of great lines, and went back to the roots of HIMYM! I must have watched it atleast 5-6 times since monday…I blame it on my internet being down I thought the hat gag was hilarious! I don’t know why everyone thinks it’s so out of character for Marshall?
I see that a lot of people have noticed the ring Robin is wearing on her hand…but did anyone notice the one she’s wearing around her neck? And the fact that Barney waits for her at the end to get out of the booth? Yeah, Brotp ftw
Oh, and I agree with everyone here that saw that Lily didn’t drink the scotch…she’s totally preggo

Not particularly related to this episode – but related to HIMYM in general, i have this one thing to ask: does anyone else feel that the Barney-Robin thing is some sort of replay on the Rachel-Joey thing in Friends (with Ted/Ross getting all upset and everything)?
Except that in Friends you know they weren’t fit for eachother, and you knew Rachel had to end up with Ross, and here Robin is surely not ending up with Ted (which is why I still have hopes for R B to work at some point).

Someone asked about Marshall’s Pitt sweatshirt – he wears a lot of college shirts. Off the top of my head I know he has worn Notre Dame and Oregon State shirts in the past and I know there are a few others. Probably just trolls the Goodwills. Haha.

i absolutely love victoria. when season 1 first aired, i actually hated her because i wanted robin and ted to get together so badly. however now i think it would be awesome if she came back because her and ted were so great together. she also had great chemistry with everyone else.

stella just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the group, but victoria proved that another person isn’t so bad. everyone seemed to love her (except robin who hated her because she had feelings for ted), so i think things could pick up where they left off from before she went to germany.
