Strike Update: Forecast Good for How I Met Your Mother

This is all speculative and, while I’m not a real journalist, I am an optimist so you’re damn sure I’m going to report it as fact. TVFodder’s Day 95 WGA Strike Recap has the prognosis for how likely many shows are to return and how many episodes they will have when and if they do so. It seems that shows like Heroes and 24, that have long story arcs, aren’t looking like they’ll return. The good news, however, is that How I Met Your Mother is listed as one of the shows likely to return with the most new episodes once the strike ends—between seven and nine most likely.
This is great news. I could care less about new episodes of Heroes since it hasn’t been good since the middle of season 1. I’m sad Scrubs is in danger but this is a How I Met Your Mother blog so no crying, only celebrating! Nine new episodes is great news, let’s hope that the strike resolution continues to advance at the currently predicted rate and we can see the rest of this season sooner rather than later.

but what if they end up rushing the season to get a good season ender?
i hate rushing shows! it’s bad enough Heroes or like Pushing Daisies rushed to a bad ending.

That pic is perfect for the moment! A lot of High 5 for Barney!
You are a Scrubs fan too? I’m very upset because they will make all the episodes, but its seems that NBC may not air all of them. After a very good 7 years they are gonna be like ‘baah’.
How I Met Your Mother will return! Probably in April/May, like almost all shows. Finally, i miss it a lot.
Heroes was very good in season one, but at the end [18-23] was horrible. Now season 2 was awesome, except for Hiro, Maya and Alejandro, they are just boring.

As the teenage girls in my class would say, omfg that is awesome. The strike is over AND HIMYM is going to be one of a handful of scripted shows to have new episodes before the fall. CBS needs to finally fully promote HIMYM get more viewers watching it now when there’s less competion and hook them forever.
john d’arc the fact that they’ll do seven to nine more (maybe) does not necesarrily mean they’ll rush it. There were 11 episdoes before the strike. HIMYM does 22 so that means they’ll do 20 max. Looking back at season 1 & 2 there were only an average of 6.5 shows between episode eleven (the last episode of the calndar year) and April with both seasons taking a few weeks of break in late March. So if the writers get back to work at the end of next week, take a few weeks and get everything rolling again and have an episode ready for around March 10 (I think that’s feasible). Then do 9 episodes straight, the season finale will be on May 12 (same week the other 2 seasons ended). It would be hard work, but it’s doable.

Alright so my excitement and hopes for 9 episodes and an early return may have been, well a little early. Ausiello from TV Guide, who knows a million, billion times more about tv than myself says that HIMYM will have about 5-7 eps for April-May. Still not too shabby things can change for the better maybe.
