The World Outside How I Met Your Mother
So there’s no new episode tonight. I’m not sure what repeat they’re showing because I’ll be busy watching other TV. I thought, therefore, this might be a good time to take a step back from HIMYM and talk abit about what else we love on television. Here, I’ll start.
Tonight I’ll be watching Chuck. Outside HIMYM, this is probably my favorite show on TV currently. I liked it last year but this season has really turned it up a notch. I love Josh Schwartz to begin with, and what he’s created here is really something special. I like that the character of Chuck isn’t played as a loser, that we actually see how he does make a decent spy and could make the stunningly beautiful women on the show fall for him. Speaking of which, Jordana Brewster has the finest bone structure and jawline of any woman working in television or film today. Yeah, gauntlet thrown.
Other than Chuck, I love Pushing Daisies (hate to see it get cancelled.) It’s just so different from everything else on TV. Lee Pace is terrific. I think I need to see a show with him and Peter Krause. Speaking of which, don’t get me started on Dirty Sexy Money. That fell face-first in the shit-pile in season two and hasn’t come out yet.
I’ve become a big fan of True Blood, though a bit inexplicably since it’s not REALLY that great a show. There’s just something about it I look forward to each week. Crazy finale, lots of setup for the future.
My second favorite show of all time has got to be Lost. I love Lost with the passion of the craziest fans out there. I spend hours on the Lostpedia, I analyze the episodes with a fine-tooth comb, I’m definitely “that guy”. As someone with a high attention for detail, I appreciate a show like Lost that respects their audience enough to give the hard-core fans something extra.
Rounding out the list, I’m a fan of Big Bang Theory, Entourage, House, Psych, The Office, 30 Rock, and Top Chef.
Quickly I’ll say I’m not at all a fan of any reality show (other than the aforementioned Top Chef,) or any of the CSI-style procedurals. I find all of that to be tedious, base, unintellectual time wasting rather than anything that entertains me or makes me think. Feel free to tell me I’m wrong however
So, what else do you guys like and why? What’s worth watching on TV that isn’t HIMYM? Battle it out! Make new friends! I’m curious to see what your guys’ taste is.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, so funny it hurts.
Dan | December 2, 2008 @ 1:08 am
Surprised you don't like Dirty Sexy Money, one of my favs. Also Gossip Girl is good for what it is.

The Bracket is showing here as a HIMYM repeat tonight.
Oh Justin, you opened a huge can of worms here for me. It seems in the past 10 or so years, I have really watched TV go downhill big time, with the introduction of "reality" TV.
So sparing anyone my soapbox rants, I will say that besides HIMYM, I think Supernatural is the greatest thing to hit my screen in a while. I've always been a fan of the strange and unusual and I think it's a great mix of comedy/sci-fi, like a baby sister to the X-Files.
I'm also really partial to Pushing Daisies. You're the only other person I know that's made mention of it. Most people still don't know what it is (I suppose that's why it's being canceled). I describe it as the Tim Burton's vision of a weekly TV series.
Heroes used to be good, but I am less enchanted with it every season that goes by. I still get a giggle from Big Bang Theory, and somehow lost track of Reaper, but I think that's a fun show. I still enjoy The Office and My Name Is Earl, probably more for the performances of the people in them, than the story lines at this point.
I am slowly catching up on great shows that have long since been canceled like Six Feet Under (LOVE IT!) and will be starting Dexter soon. Hmmm, I think I see a theme forming in my show choices.
Rachael | December 2, 2008 @ 1:17 am
The only other shows I watch are Pushing Daisies and The Office. I'm heartbroken about Pushing Daisies! I also watch Dexter, but have been saving the new season to catch up on when everything else goes on winter break. I was big on Weeds up until this year, when I decided it was just getting too absurd.
John Darc | December 2, 2008 @ 1:34 am
They're airing the Bracket, and I just want to know….Who was the mystery girl supposed to be before it was Britney Spears?
John Darc | December 2, 2008 @ 1:34 am
They're airing the Bracket, and I just want to know….Who was the mystery girl supposed to be before it was Britney Spears?
edit: Man, they didn't even go back and re-edit the episode. Weird.
John Darc | December 2, 2008 @ 1:36 am
To be fair, Reaper is a midseason replacement.
John T | December 2, 2008 @ 1:44 am
I've got a bunch of shows I like besides HIMYM, mostly on Mondays: Chuck (you're right, it is 1 b) in my mind after HIMYM), The Big Bang Theory makes me laugh, I keep watching Heroes with blind optimism – I can see its potential and then a few shows I'd rather not admit I watch, ::cough:: Privileged and Grey's Anatomy ::cough::
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:11 am
You know, I've never seen this show. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'm sure I'll love it. I just have to find the DVDs and get caught up.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:13 am
Pushing Daisies was never marketed well. It has a fan base, and a passionate one, but it just failed to catch on. I think, in five or so years, that it'll be a huge cult hit on DVD.
TheMix | December 2, 2008 @ 2:14 am
Justin….why'd you have to mention House?! Your awesomeness-ratio just slightly diminished in my book. Ok, I know the world has medical mysteries, but do they all have to come to this asshole?!!!
Anyway. Other shows:
1. Californication. Love it….the dialogue is just damn beautiful it's hard not to love. Plus I think we like to escape every now and again into characters that reflect sides of ourselves that we'll never (nor would we want to) explore. You feel so bad for Duchovny's character 99.9% of the time, so you want him to win. He's like the anti-typical underdog.
2. Eli Stone. Someone kind of phrased this to me the other day as an Aly McBeal with balls, and though I've never seen the latter, I'd have to agree I guess. Plus, I'm agnostic so I like the idea of a show exploring the idea of there being a higher power, intentionally and unintentionally. Plus I like music….specifically Duke Ellington (which was in one of the shows.
3. It's Always Sunny In Philly. Though it's complete irreverence can go a bit overboard at times, I like the idea of being able to watch a show that confirms the idea that there's always someone out there with a much crappier life than mine.
4. Boston Legal. Love the dialogues between Alan and Denny….it's doesn't get any better. The show's able to tackle issues in a deep, yet funny way. Also, I kinda like self-referential humor where a tv show breaks down that fourth wall and knows it's a tv show.
The rest of the shows I love consist of older tv shows that have faded away: Ed, Six Feet Under, Sports Night, News Radio (pre Phil Hartman's passing), Rome, and, of course, Star Trek TNG
Justin, I read something after the first episode where Peter Krause had given an interview after 6 ft. Under was done and said that he wasn't planning on doing another show, but that this one (Dirty, Sexy) was supposed to be fun….and that's why he signed on. I keep wanting for the show to break through, but it hasn't (and it looks like it won't have the chance). It had a lot of promise with Krause and Donald Sutherland, but just fell off a shit-cliff, like you said. Surprisingly enough the episode before last actually did hold my interest and keep my hopes up, with that character, Wren I think her name is. She showed the promise of depth and complexity, along with being immensely stunning.

Last season, when I had a DVR, there was a long list. Now that I don't have that, the list is down to HIMYM, NCIS (yeah a procedural but I like the characters), Lost, Top Chef and probably Scrubs. I did watch Chuck for most of last season and it was a lot of fun. I know that's one of those shows that (hopefully) when it goes in to syndication I'm going to want to catch up on it.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:24 am
Jason,
House is just a fascination for me. I love the tone, and some of the themes. I also am enamored with Huge Laurie. I do feel it's gotten a lot worse since they changed the format last year.
Krause is a favorite of mine ever since Sports Night which I still quote on a day to day basis but sadly no one understands.
I have to check out Californication, I've heard nothing but good things about it. Eli Stone, however, I've heard is a steaming pile. I guess it doesn't matter now since that got cancelled too, I think.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:24 am
Oh! How did I forget about Scrubs? I LOVE that show.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:35 am
Ooooo, I was a BIG fan of Veronica Mars. As was John D'arc I believe.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:36 am
I watched a few episodes of Dexter and while I liked it, decided I just didn't have room in my life for any more shows.
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 2:36 am
I almost forgot, I loved The Dresden Files for the very short time the show was on. Anyone else?
katie | December 2, 2008 @ 3:31 am
i love chuck. it is my second favorite show on TV. i also enjoy heroes.
i use to be a big fan of moonlight, journey man, and new amsterdam.
but none of them have returned for a second season sadly.
Jordan | December 2, 2008 @ 3:47 am
Don't expect to see DSM come out from that shitty rock, it got cancelled too.
Courtney | December 2, 2008 @ 3:50 am
I love Chuck soverymuch. The only shows I watch regularly are HIMYM, Chuck, The Office, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny, and The Soup. I don't get Showtime, so Dexter + Netflix = my life. And I'm almost certain that come February 13th, Dollhouse will be my latest obsession because Joss is the light and the way.
Dan | December 2, 2008 @ 4:15 am
We basically have the same list of shows that we watch, so I hope you trust me when I say Dexter. It is completely different from the rest of them, but if you appreciate good TV you have to try it.
KJO | December 2, 2008 @ 4:18 am
I have three shows to mention that I don't think anyone has talked about. They are three very different shows and all are among the best on television.
Mad Men is the best drama out there right now. I know JD is a big fan. It is currently between seasons, but season one is on dvd and a lot of cable providers have season 2 on demand.
No Reservations is a Travel Channel show hosted by cook and author Anthony Bourdain. Tony travels the world to experience new cultures and foods. Bourdain's unique personality provides for a very entertaining tour guide.
If you ask me South Park just keeps getting better and better. If you think South Park is all potty humor and swearing, you're wrong. If you haven't been watching it you have been missing out on the best satirical comedy on television. Recently, they aired an episode poking fun at high school musical in which one of the kids' parents was pushing him to do theater. The kid really wanted to join the basketball team, but he was afraid of disappointing his father…LOL.
Ike | December 2, 2008 @ 4:19 am
CSI is my favorite drama. Other great shows include Chuck, House, Psych, Dirty jobs, and Mythbusters. I've gotten back into Lost after not watching much after season 2. Other shows I watch regularly are Dexter, Monk, Heroes, NCIS, Numbers, The Soup, Daily Show, and Fringe.
Ike | December 2, 2008 @ 4:24 am
I'm the opposite I liked House, but last season made me love the show. The season finale was amazing. The only complaint is that I don't like Chase and Cameron still being around, but not on the team. Hugh Laurie is amazing, and he's my pick to play Roland, the Gunslinger, Deschain if the Dark Tower gets made.
Gravity | December 2, 2008 @ 4:25 am
I watch HIMYM, Chuck, House, Bones, Supernatural, Smallville, The Office and 30 Rock. Pretty varied.
Ike | December 2, 2008 @ 4:26 am
Yeah great episode until Abby is revealed to be the stalker. That storyline doesn't mesh on this one. That would be an interesting question to have the writers answer.
Mothership | December 2, 2008 @ 4:32 am
See HIMYM has the most coveted avertising audance (The ones that don't watch TV much.) We are more of a movie crowd hence the fact we like the story. The others you can get anywhere AD wise. HIMYM appeals to upper middle class. They are now trying to get the Millennials on board these are the "Cult of personality" people or sheeple they love thier so called celebs so much that they follow everything the do/buy/say kind of sad realy…. Millennials would be the ones that started watching the show in mid Season 2 or Season 3 when celebs started coming big supprise there……

I have recently been addicted to Ace of Cakes. Lord knows why. I love it all the same.
Nick | December 2, 2008 @ 5:53 am
Outside of HIMYM I am a fan of:
Scrubs
The Big Bang Theory
Two and a Half Men
Gary Unmarried
I also still love all of the Seinfeld reruns that are on tv today. They are still better than 90% of the shows out there today…
sellega | December 2, 2008 @ 6:08 am
LOL. I'm there with you on 30MM and AtlA.
sellega | December 2, 2008 @ 6:11 am
current: Ugly Betty, Big Bang Theory, Heroes (I don't know why I bother though), What Not to Wear, Little People Big World, 30 Minute Meals

SSJ | December 2, 2008 @ 7:04 am
You know, I watched a lot of various kind of TV shows, but there are just two series that stole my heart.
The first one is FRIENDS. Gosh, this is so fabulous show. Amazing actors, great chemistry between them and the most important thing – laugh, actually a lot of laughs. A lot, a lot, a lot!!! Ten season of nonstop laughing! The best show ever in my opinion. Of course I like HIMYM, but it never will be as good as Friends. Probably there will be better show at all…
The second one is very different. Firstly, I must say – I was never into sci-fi, fantasy, ghosts etc. This fact has changed when I saw SUPERNATURAL. It is so incredibly good, much better than Lost, Smallville, The 4400 or Heroes! The story, the music, the special effects… just wow. If you want to see a really good show choose SUPERNATURAL, you won't be disappointed. If you're interested I can write more about that show of course
.
SSJ | December 2, 2008 @ 7:07 am
W?atcy Móch, I love that show
. Are you from Poland?
SeiKen | December 2, 2008 @ 7:31 am
Almost the same shows for me.
).
One of the few new shows I've loved this year is The Middleman. Funny dialogues, strong comedy, and that is geeky enough for me
Right now, Dexter, Entourage, HIMYM, Chuck, House M.D., The Office and 30 Rock are the highlights of my week (at least on the tv
I'm waiting for the new Whedon show Dollhouse, and for the return of both Scrubs and BSG on January, and should watch all the previous episodes of these two shoes.
SeiKen | December 2, 2008 @ 7:32 am
I forgot The IT Crowd too
Tyler B | December 2, 2008 @ 8:11 am
I'm not a big TV guy but I do have a few favorites.
I do enjoy Chuck, I've actually just started getting into it now since I finally got a DVR. Before that I could only watch the first half of it before I had to turn it over to HIMYM.
The only other two shows I watch religiously are 30 Rock and Dexter.
Marcy | December 2, 2008 @ 8:12 am
Yeah
Though I don't live in Poland at the moment
JustinDickinson | December 2, 2008 @ 8:16 am
Additionally, this post proves that the new comment system is awesome. I love it.

SSJ | December 2, 2008 @ 8:33 am
Exactly, the old one wasn't bad, but this one is really, really great!.
BTW amazing job with the site, JD, the best HIMYM site in the whole web
.
misha | December 2, 2008 @ 9:18 am
Pushing Daisies – pissed at cancellation. Love your idea of a show with Lee Pace and Peter Krause – it's so be there. PK was actually the reason I started watching Dirty Sexy Money – but about this one, I'm happy it's out. First season was decent, but the second was killing me. (If you can die of boredom)
There's the comedies – apart from HIMYM – Big Bang Theory (which is getting better and better) and The Office.
Plus Heroes, Grey's Anatomy (which is more of a reflex by now) and Brothers and Sisters. And I can't wait for Lost to be back in jan.Oh, and I used to watch Californication, but a couple of eps ago it just got icky and I still don't know it I'll start again with it or not.
Meow Mixer | December 2, 2008 @ 10:39 am
Well I have to say that OTHER than HIMYM, I am a massive fan of DOCTOR WHO! He rocks my world. Too bad next season he'll be gone
Another very awesome show I like is The Closer. I am sure that I stand alone in my love for that show, but who doesn't like a smart a$$ from the south in a big town! ; ) And yes, I join the band wagon of True Blood, it is strangely addictive, and I was sad to come to the end of the season. There was also another show that did not stay on for too long, that I wish they would try to get back up. Fire Fly. ::sigh:: oh well
(Can you tell I like Sci Fi much
) Oh and for all you brits out there, who loved the small series of Dead Set???
Meow Mixer | December 2, 2008 @ 10:44 am
Oh yes and Fringe!!! I love that show! Oh and Apparitions, that is a gooood bbc show. Yes I am a girl who loved SciFI, what of it??
Marcy | December 2, 2008 @ 10:47 am
Ah, yes, the world outise of HIMYM…
As for me, there are not that many shows I watch, but that's mostly because a) I don't have the time and b) there are not that many good things on TV here.
Anyhow, here's my list of must-sees every week (apart from HIMYM of course
)
1. The IT Crowd. British comedy I love to bits. I watched one episode and was totally hooked. The new season started just about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. It's about two "nerds" working in the IT departament of some big company who suddenly get a female co-worker that has no idea about computers (and got the job because she lied on her CV). The description might sound shallow, but believe me, it's not. It's really super funny. I've seen people compare The Big Bang Theory to The IT Crowd, but those shows are quite different. They just have the nerds in common.
2. Speaking of The Big Bang Theory, also a show I really like. It's not as great as I hope for it to be, but still good enough to watch right after I finished watching HIMYM.
3. Scrubs. I simply love the show. I've seen every episode at least twice and watch the re-runs on Comedy Central Poland with delight.
4. The Simpsons. After so many years it's still funny. Well most of the time anyway. I used to love the German version of the show, until the woman who was dubbing marge died. The new voice is plain horrible and now it's English version only for me.
5. Corner Gas. Canadian show that actually isn't that great, but at some point it simply became a habbit of mine to watch it and now I really like it.
6. 30 Minute Meals. No comment on this one.
7. Dr. Molly und Karl. German show about a doctor and a psychiatrist. One of the main characters is an all time cynic and manybe that's why I love the show. It's kind if mushy, kind of funny and kind of serious. A good mix in my opinion.
8. W?atcy Móch. A Polish cartoon similar to Southpark (but not a clone), just very, very Polish. And really funny. As far as I know, it was sold to MTV UK and Germany, so who knows, maybe it will air in an English version somewhere soon (though I doubt it will be as good as the original. Some things are just too difficult to translate).
9. Avatar. Yes, I do watch Avatar. So what?
10. And last but not least, Monk. The show is wonderful and I'm a pround owner of 3 DVD boxes
O.k, maybe I DO watch far too much TV… Damn…
Lynn | December 2, 2008 @ 10:59 am
oo I really love True Blood! And have only one other friend that has only seen 3 episodes lol but I got so hooked onto it… and that finale was crazy. I cant believe I'm going to have to wait til summer for the new season. I want to read the books.
Besides HIMYM, The Office is my favorite show. I could go on and on like many people. lol
I also got really into Weeds. And I love Pushies Daisies…. I agree its so beautiful and unique to watch. I am so mad that it got cancelled! But I heard the writer wants to finish out the story in comic book form, so hopefully that will be nice.
Plus I love British shows… and sadly being here in America…. my friends don't agree with the humor which makes me very sad. =[
I love The It Crowd, Peep Show, Spaced
Lynn | December 2, 2008 @ 11:02 am
I love The It Crowd!!
Moss is wonderful.
Alex | December 2, 2008 @ 11:25 am
Pushing Daisies WHY!!!!!!, Supernatural, Heroes, The Simpsons, King Of The Hill, Chuck, Angel re runs in the morning, and alot of shows on dvd like Veronica Mars, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Firefly, The 4400, Carnivale, i luvs my tv
RiC_aRd0_ | December 2, 2008 @ 11:27 am
The Big Bang Theory is awesome! I like Scrubs and Two Men And a Half also…
More serious stuff are 24 and Prison Break (yes, I do watch it)
TheMix | December 2, 2008 @ 11:57 am
I could watch the Cutman (Chuck Kimmel) episode 5 million times and never get bored.

I feel like the recent seasons of CSI have been very good. The miniature killer story arch was very intense and well written.
Courtney | December 3, 2008 @ 4:25 am
Ooh if we're doing old shows too, my beloved and dearly departed shows that I mourn in DVD form:
-Mystery Science Theater 3000
-Buffy, Angel, Firefly
-Mr. Show
-News Radio (pre and post Phil, I honestly think Lovitz gets an undeserved bad rap)
-Kids in the Hall
-Arrested Development
-The OC
-Coupling (BBC)
Ashley | December 3, 2008 @ 5:44 am
You're right, season 7 was a glorious break in an otherwise continuous downhill slide. And now that the original cast is leaving, so is my interest…
Ashley | December 3, 2008 @ 5:47 am
Oh Veronica Mars. You live on in my memory and my DVD player.
Seriously, how did no one watch that show? It was fantastic!
Super_Mario | December 3, 2008 @ 6:48 am
besides How I Met Your Mother
1) Friends…even though there aren't any more new episodes i can still go back and just pick out a random season and be fully entertained. (The similarties between Friends and How I Met Your Mother are riduclously…they gotta have some of the same writers or the writers loved friends.)
2) Desperate Housewives: (My guilty pleasure) i watched it first time half way through season 4 with my girlfriend and got hooked…now i own all 4 seasons and am watching season 5 religiously…(so easy to get hooked)
3) Project Runway….any excuse to see Heidi Klum
4) Scrubs: awesomely entertaining…Jordan makes that show!!
5) It's Always Funny In Philadelphia: I was introduced recently…it is hilarious
6) Pushing Daisies: Seriously Underrated show
Meow Mixer | December 3, 2008 @ 7:36 am
I know the feeling British hunour was never my strong suit till I met my British hubby, who's got me hooked on everything bbc. That show called No heroics is pretty funny, and the It crowd is pretty funny, but I only watched 2 eps of that, I use to love Cracker, but that's long gone now
Best bbc show ever though is tied at Faulty Towers and One Foot in the Grave
What ya think mate?
Meow Mixer | December 3, 2008 @ 7:37 am
Courtney you rock! Fire Fly Forever!
SlickNL | December 3, 2008 @ 8:17 am
Oh wow… is there a wolrd outside HIMYM??
I'm from The Netherlands, I really love HIMYM, after that…
- Big Bang Theory
- Friends
- Two and a half men
- 24
- Samantha Who
- Californication
AnnF | December 3, 2008 @ 9:24 am
Outside of How I Met Your Mother, I enjoy watching the following:
1. The Big Bang Theory
2. Chuck! (That show rocks on all kinds of levels)
3. Heroes (I tried walking away this season but they pulled me back in somehow)
4. Grey's Anatomy (can't give it up no matter how stupid the ghost Dennie plot is)
5. Pushing Daisies (Boo on ABC)
6. Bones
7. Private Practice (it's an odd compulsion but I watch it every time there's a new episode)
Lynn | December 3, 2008 @ 10:28 am
I will have to look those shows up! I only have BBC America, so I try to watch shows online. (I want to live in England!lol) It stinks that most of the seasons only have like six episodes, we're so used to shows having 22 or more a season. lol so im always wanting more.
John Darc | December 3, 2008 @ 10:47 am
So, I'm rewatching HIMYM with my newbie roommates. I wonder if they're ever gonna show how Lily and Marshall reacted to Ted and Robin breaking up. We were never shown how they were told.
TheMix | December 3, 2008 @ 11:29 am
"We were never shown how they were told."
They were told via Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake. Look it up, it's a fact.
Ok, maybe not, but that'd be awesome!
Ashley | December 3, 2008 @ 12:14 pm
I'm so sad to see Pushing Daisies go. Besides HIMYM, it's my favourite show on television right now.
I used to love CSI Las Vegas, but it's gone downhill the last few years and now I only catch it on occasion.
Most of what I watch is on DVD: Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, Flight of the Conchords, etc.
Corey | December 3, 2008 @ 12:44 pm
Other than Mother, House is the show I must watch. I don't have Showtime so I have to wait til late Sunday night to dl Californication to watch. There is also of course Family Guy which I think is the best cartoon on tv. If you can you should get Volume 6 of Family Guy and see the joke that Fox wouldn't let them air about the Simpsons, it's Hilarious. I am also excited about seeing Scrubs come back in January. And of course cannot forget about the reruns of That 70s Show that are always on
JustinDickinson | December 3, 2008 @ 12:49 pm
Be careful there, a friend who read the books said the show is far superior. The books don't have or don't feature all the secondary characters.

Hi guys.. am I missing out something or why aren't there much followers for Prison Break?? Isn't the show a hit in US?
Kelly G. | December 4, 2008 @ 5:56 am
I just got into Big Bang Theory this year and love it.
NCIS has me totally hooked. The characters are just amazing and so lovable. Plus I get my fill of weird shit with that show.
Private Practice merely because I loved Addison so much on Grey's.
Grey's Anatomy…it's gotten a bit slow recently, but I have faith in it.
And Pushing Daisies. Which, honestly, is my favorite show right now. I think it's ridiculous that it got canceled. So many people I talk to love it and watch it religiously. It has such a strong following and is so unique. I don't know who has a Neilson box, but it can't be an accurate representation of the nation as a whole because otherwise they wouldn't be canceling this show.

It is, I just don't think that the type of people who watch Prison Break watch HIMYM as well.

Haha, WTF?

The Office
Entourage
LOST
Friday Night Lights (Underrated show)
Friends re-runs are always good. Even though i know all the lines it's still hilarious.

I also really enjoy Supernatural. However, I think my favorite show outside of HIMYM is King of Queens. Kevin James is hilarious. Others include also Top Chef and other reality shows like Project Runway and sitcoms like Yes, Dear. One show that was almost as superbly funny and is a shame it was cancelled was CBS' The Class. It had humor similar to HIMYM, but not many people liked it. I loved it, though.

Aww i'm sad no one mentioned my other fave show. Guess I'm alone.
The only other show I make a point to watch besides HIMYM is Criminal Minds. I love that show. (well last weeks episode was horrible, but its usually awesome)

There's a world outside How I Met Your Mother?
Just kidding! Of course HIMYM is my all time favorite show, but i also really love Lost. I am so glad we know when it's coming back! (Jan. 21!)
I also really like NCIS, CSI, Big Bang Theory, Cold Case, Mentalist, Gary Unmarried, and Big Brother (when it's airing)

I know! I was a HUGE The Class fan, and I totally agree that the humor was similar to himym, but then it got cancelled! that's when I really started focusing on himym.
ashlee | December 5, 2008 @ 11:22 am
Oh……I also really like Friday Night Lights

Pushing Daisies is very very adorable but i think it's been decreasing in quality since the first episodes and the whole Ned/Chuck not touching thing gets on one's nerves. Somehow I'm expecting a great finale that probably couldn't have been achieved had they been able to keep the show up for more than two seasons… Ok,maybe they need some more episodes but I'm hoping they can make the end great anyway. I'm gonna miss Olive! Kristin Chenoweth is AWESOME.
Californication: I watched the first episode and yuck! Don't wanna see "Mulder" being a man whore…
Grey's Anatomy: i also watch it by reflex as someone said (funny eheh)… i think the show makes it all the way up to ridiculous lots of times… but i watch it anyway, how sad..
30 rock: tina fey is a genius, she's brilliant, i simply LOVE her. i laugh sooooo much. show only topped by Will and Grace and of course our very own HIMYM.
