I’m not one of them. For me, Victoria was all but lame. She had that special glow, that sensitive, soft and caring side that is essential for a potential girlfriend. Apart from that, she was funny and very beautiful in a “non-Hollywood way”, as someone put it. And very, very romantic. I love that.

Just think of how she made Ted wait a whole month before sleeping together. Would Robin do that? Of course not. Would most women (or men, for that matter) do that? Of course not. It doesn’t work that way. But she wanted it to be special. She was different. As clearly showed when they met in “Drumroll, Please”.

Ted is a romantic bastard. He wants special. He’s not looking for something “casual”, not just any girl. He’s looking for The One and she’s got to be special. I think he liked her being different.

Or at least, that is my twisted romantic view of things. I think Victoria matched Ted perfectly. Robin is not even close in comparison.

I really hope we get to see Victoria back in Ted’s life. But I doubt it. That would be too good.

I was very much rooting for a Robin and Ted getting together for Season 1 so at the end of the wedding episode in Season 1, when they focus in on her, I went "That's who Ted is getting together with?"

However, by the time she left for Germany, I was totally hooked on Victoria. She was so sweet and seemed to fit together tremendously with Ted. There was definite chemistry there.

As I said in my previous comment (#44)….I think the reason Victoria wasn’t right for Ted is that she didn’t challenge him. I suppose one could look at the whole “one night, then never speak to each other again” as a challenge in the regular sense, but it doesn’t actually challenge Ted’s personality….his actual self. Ted’s normally impetuous and outgoing. That’s the reason he went along with her wedding challenge in the first place.

I think what some people don’t realize is how much guys want a strong willed woman. This may be getting a bit too psychological for everyone, but it’s true. Guys, specifically intellectual guys, and guys with strong, outgoing, personalities….they tend to like the same in the women they date. That, is not Victoria, it’s Robin, or some other girl we haven’t seen yet.

There’s a very great difference between a wonderful girl, and the RIGHT girl. I’m sure we’ve all dealt with women/men that we were very attracted to, and liked a great deal, but just didn’t end up with. Victoria was cool, great, sweet, and beautiful, but she wasn’t even remotely close to what Ted should/will end up with. That’s why Ted went to Robin. And that’s the reason that he didn’t go for Stella either. He would’ve gone so far as marrying her, but it wouldn’t have worked out, because that’s not the girl that Ted’s should/going to end up with.
