Hey guys, I’ll catch the episode as soon as I can but wanted to give you a place to discuss what went on. I have an idea, as I’ve spoken to some people who filled me in with some details, that tonight promises to be awesome. Come visit the blog right after the episode is over, there’ll be something here I think you’ll like.

Ok, it took a little while but I’m back with the recap. Since it’s late I wrote a little extra based on all your comments.

A lot’s been said about the one-off episodes. This definitely felt like one, at least in the jokes and the plot devices (Jason, you’re right, technically it showed how Robin staid in NY but also note she was never endanger of leaving before this episode.) But for me, watching it late on Wednesday after a really hectic couple weeks, a one-off was exactly what I wanted. It’s still the same characters we love, and it’s funnier than almost anything else out there because of its proven pedigree. Sometimes you need a one off, and when you do, you can do worse than How I Met Your Mother.

That being said, I really enjoyed this episode. I like when they’re all a little mean to each other. They did it in Spoiler Alert and they do it again here. It works.
