I could sit down and write a recap that talked about how casually, and at the same time deftly, the writers work modern technology and culture into their humor, how it keeps the jokes fresh and the show as a whole agile and new. I could talk about the faceted story line that dealt with desire, empathy, pathos, cruelty, and bro-love. I could go on and on about how watching NPH and Jason Segel read off the NFL draft order would be funnier then anything Two and a Half Men could churn out.
Or…
I could tell the story of why tonight’s episode is special to me, and why I cannot review it unbiasedly. Yeah, that’s better.

When Ted breaks Barney and Marshall’s “three days rule” by having a “text” relationship with a girl he just met, they play a cruel joke on him by pretending to be her
I’ll be staying late in the office to watch this episode live with some co-workers as it, more than any other, has special meaning for me. Let’s just say the plot is a little familiar. I’ll expound on that and more tomorrow when I post my full episode recap. Until then, leave your comments here.
