You Must Party Down

party-down-ss

I don’t often recommend other shows on the site. I’m about to make an exception because there is a show that is so good I can’t not tell you about it. It hasn’t picked up a lot of support yet but I promise you it’s going to be big.

What Will Happen in the End of Season 4

I try to stay spoiler free but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about what’s to come. I did a little digging and found a (somewhat) comprehensive list of what we can expect for the remainder of this season.

TV Poll: What do you spend on DVDs/Downloads?

Time for another finance/TV poll. This time I’m curious what you’re willing to spend on DVDs/downloads of your favorite shows.

How Much Would You Spend on a Single Season DVD for a Show You Love

[filife 271]

What’s the most you’d pay per-episode for a show through a service like iTunes?

[filife 272]

Again, take these only if you want to. And if you have a minute, connect your facebook account with FiLife so you can see how your friends answered the same poll.

Once I’m done posting all my polls I have something cool to share with you guys as a thank you.

Season 4, Episode 20: Mosbius Designs (actual) Discussion

You guys are right, I’ve been late with recaps and it’s not fair. Starting next week, recaps will be posted every Tuesday morning, barring any technical difficulties (read: file hasn’t downloaded.) OK, now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on.

This episode was solid. Funny, enough characterization to satisfy the High Hopers out there while still being singularly funny. It’s a great build up for the end of the season, which frankly I can’t wait for.

We all have times in our lives when we look around and realize we aren’t where we thought we would be. Whether that means we’re settling for the wrong people in relationships because we’re unhappy with ourselves or if it means we’re stuck professionally out of a fear of failure, it’s these moments of perspective that can give us the clarity needed to get back on track. This was the situation Ted and Robin found themselves in throughout Mosbius Designs.

Was Marshall stuck too? He might have been, had he not been able to become a “guy” at work. Focusing on what has come to be one of my favorite side plot lines, the episode followed Marshall and Barney through their Adventures in Corporate America. And Lily? Well she doesn’t like sandwich-spread sodomy humor (prude.)

HIMYM Survey: What Should the Actors Be Paid?

Full disclosure, I work for FiLife. We created a custom polling application (hehe, polling) called The Stacker. I embedded some in my recap preview but wanted to do some more that tie together HIMYM and finance. Please take a moment to share your opinion. I’ll be posting these from time to time on the site.

How Much Do Actors in an Ensemble Series Deserve to be Paid?

[filife 252]

For this specifically I was thinking of the lead actors on HIMYM but it could be for any ensemble based show. What’s a reasonable salary to be paid per episode? Let’s assume a 22 episode season so total salary for a year is 22xper episode value.

If you have two minutes you can go to FiLife and use your Facebook account to connect. Why? Because you can then share the stackers you take with your friends. It’s really cool, but totally voluntary.

Thanks!
