How I Met Your Mother is the Best Comedy on Television (Maybe)
Where’s the new post button? What’s my admin password? What’s the website again? Oh yeah, I remember how to do this now…
Hey guys and gals, how’s your summer vacation so far? Having fun? How much fun? As much fun as it must be for Bays, Thomas, and the cast to be nominated for BEST EFFING COMEDY SERIES? (That’s the oft-forgotten full title of the award. True Story.)
It’s true, after years of shunning, HIMYM finally gets the nomination it deserves. I’m not going to lie, it’s up against some stiff competition. Nominees:
- How I Met Your Mother – Woot!
- Entourage – I’m a big fan, though I’m still pulling for HIMYM
- The Office – Past it’s peak, IMO, still good but not as good as it used to be.
- 30 Rock - Eh, it’s good, and it’s cool to love it, but I prefer HIMYM because it’s story AND funny.
- Weeds – Who cares. OK, a lot of people, just not me.
- Flight of the Conchords – Couldn’t get through this season. Too weird for its own good.
- Family Guy – Would be historic, which is cool, but still not as good as HIMYM
What do you guys think? Does it have a chance? I think so. What do you think? Oh yeah, NPH is hosting and it airs September 20 on CBS. Tune in! Or don’t, that shit is long and you can just read the winners on twitter (where you can follow me here.)
How I Met Your Mother Season 5 Premiere Date Announced
How’s everyone’s summer going so far? Good I hope.
CBS has confirmed that How I Met Your Mother season 5 will premiere on September 21st at 8pm. (via TVGuide)
In other news, reader Lara-Jane tells me that C4/ e4 in the UK is rumored to be purchasing rights to show the first four seasons of the show. She says:
It’s expected that C4 / e4 might do something of a double with The Big Bang Theory like CBS do as that show has been a success for them. C4 have a great record with US shows (Friends, Fraisier, Will and Grace, My Name is Earl, Big Bang Theory, Scrubs, Sex and the City, Dawson’s Creek, Desperate Housewives, Six Feet Under, The Soprano’s to name just a few!). Hopefully they will start showing it soon as e4’s big homegrown shows (Skins and The Inbetweeners) aren’t back until January at the earliest and Big Bang Theory and a few others just finished their new runs.
This is good news for UK HIMYM fans as there hasn’t been a good way to see the shows before unless you go online.
