Inside the Criminal Mind of Charlene Amoia
By JD
I think it’s safe to say that we all love Wendy the Waitress. What you may not know is that behind the apron Charlene Amoia is quite prolific in her appearances across TV and commercials. A peak at her videos on YouTube show how often she pops up. I bet you’ve seen her in something else, even if you didn’t realize it.
Her appearances are not always easy to spot. Take, for instance, an upcoming role on Criminal Minds. For an episode airing in the near future Charlene doned makeup to resemble a burn victim. She was then nice enough to share an account of the experience and photos from the time she spent in the make up chair with all of us.
Here she is in the first stages:

The makeup was intense. It took over 4 hours to complete it and then after it was done it was real difficult for me to do anything while I was waiting for my scene. I tried to eat, but I could barely open my mouth which made it very difficult

I didn’t expect to feel different being in the burn make up, but I noticed that people were being extra nice to me, like they felt bad for me, even though they knew it wasn’t real either. The extra attention was nice, but because my skin was extremely tight and my mobility was so constricted I was forced to hang in my room and wait the whole time. Toward the end of the day, I couldn’t wait to get it off so I could smile again.
And the final result:

Pretty gruesome. Though it’s nice to know that underneath all the char, Charlene was still as happy as always. Just look, that’s the cheeriest burn victim I’ve ever seen.
Thanks so much to Charlene for providing the photos and story of her experience. I’m going to send her this link so if you have anything to tell her, about this or about her role on HIMYM, leave a comment.

hahaha that's quite a transformation from Wendy the Waitress. She does look WAY to happy to be burned that bad. Seems like she has a great personality

I think the bigger question is, even after the burn make-up…. would you?

"Wendy the Waitress is the mother. Wendy the Waitress is the mother. Wendy the Waitress is the mother….

Come on guys, why so shy? There aren't nearly as many comments as usual. What's with the lurking? Charlene won't agree to do any more appearances here if you don't say anything.
CanadianWingman has already made it all weird, so just comment, you'll look good

Sorry for the off topic comment
Cobie Smulders now has a fiancé Taran Killam. Nice that people are still doing the right thing after the wrong "thing".
Wendy is sweet/cute but she will NOT be the mother. And the lack of comments is probably because people check the site on the only day you post Tuesday.

Why are you so full of hate?
Mothership | Sunday, February 1st, 2009 08:25 pm GMT -4
What you call hate I call high moral standards. I grew up in a time where having babies in high school was unacceptable. The world was a better place then. Now you have to be “politically correct” and you can’t talk about “hot” topic issues. Now if you speak out against anything it’s “hate” speech. Everyone is special no one is a loser and society deteriorates to having no moral standard.
I find it funny that “Robin” gets drunk at the Christmas party, sleeps around, gets knocked up. And I am “wrong” for saying at least now he is doing the right thing.
Hate from me spurs from the fact I have and IQ in 98th percentile. Lesser minds frustrate and anger me. Sadly intelligence can’t be taught and killing all the stupid people is genocide. The depression/wars should take care of a few million though. (I may have taken that a bit far but it is true.)

So you're saying that compasion and intelligence are mutually exclusive? You paint a pretty black and white picture for someone who is so learned. Cobie didn't get drunk at a christmas party, the two were dating. And even if she did, it's none of my business. I don't care about the guy who makes my food's love life, and I care equally little about the love lives of actors on show's I like. Also, Cobie is 26 years old, not in high school.
Being smart is easy. Hating is easy. Seeing the nuance of the world, that people are fallible, and taking the chance to not be a curmudgeon about everything is the highest moral standard. Your point that you can't talk about hot topic issues is also too broad. You can talk about them if you're being respectful and balanced in your opinion, it becomes politically incorrect when you sling hate and offense, which is what the people like you who complain about being censored do. It's easy to say “kill all the stupid people” and it makes a big noise. It's harder to have a conversation about the root of an issue and work toward change.
I'm done with you.

No, I have no compassion! I thought I made that pretty clear. Where did you get that from? Compassion is a feeling I function on logic. Being intelligent is not easy, hating is not easy. Being stupid and liking everything is easy.
The root of all current social issues are caused by the constant lowering of the moral standard.
No one likes change!
Sticks a fork in it to make sure it is done. You take things a little too seriously. Lighten up it is the internet.

Your poor attempt at humor does an equally poor job of deflecting guilt for saying some pretty stupid and insensitive things.
JustinDickinson | Monday, February 2nd, 2009 05:16 am GMT -4
The current problem with the world is fear and a lack of compassion. It's a “I know what's best, let me worry about it” approach.
It all makes sense now though. You're a robot. Everything is explained.
