Potential Mother Alert: Laura Prepon Cast for Future Episodes
We’ve all heard the story of Ted’s first “love”. Molly was the one who had sex with him, borrowed $20, and went to set off fireworks. She was also the one, if I’m not mistaken, that Ted felt he cheated on when he made out with not-Lily and the very same one who broke up with him when he went home before driving back with Marshall.
Well get ready because Ted’s high school love is back and she’ll be played by Laura Prepon of “That 70s Show” fame. Showing up from his past, EW says that the two will rekindle their original flame. I’m not one to jump on the “she’s the mother” train every time a new actress is cast for the show, but it will be interesting to see Ted dating again. I wonder what kind of girl she’ll be.
Thanks to reader Jessica for the tip, although she just said “casting news – girl from That 70s Show” so I assumed it was Mila Kunis since she’s already worked with Segel and she fits the type of girl that appears on the show but, alas, it is not. I’m not familiar with Prepon (I never watched That 70s Show) do you guys have an opinion?

If I'm not mistaken, Molly was just a one night stand. In one of the college flashbacks, Ted is on the phone crying to a girl named Karen.
Too bad it's not Mila Kunis – the actors that play the kids look just like her.

That's right, Ted lost his virginity to Molly. And Karen was the girlfriend from college ("Who is not funny now karen??") So, yeah JD you're mistaken

They both great comedic actresses. It'll be interested to see how Molly is written. Since I haven't seen Prepon in anything outside of That 70s Show I can only picture her as that character who's a very headstrong girl. Not quite who I'd picture Ted hooking up with!

I love Laura Prepon, I'm excited about this. I bet Jason Segel is too, because they were in that movie Slackers together like God knows how long ago…but that movie was awesome! And then I also remember watching an MTV Cribs with Laura Prepon and her pal Jason Segel was like bumming around her house!

Laura Prepon was in October Road… and I really liked that show! But alas, it was canceled. If you watched That 70's Show, you'd think it would be hard for her not be "Donna" but she actually did a pretty good job in October Road. However, she is kind of tall…

I love her– I thought she had infinitely better comic timing than Kunis when they were on "That 70's Show" but I haven't seen Kunis in "Forgetting…" so I guess I should reserve judgement. Wasn't Prepon a redhead for most of "That 70's Show?" Is she still blond? I don't care if she is the mother or not– I just hope they really use her comedic strengths.

It's a good choice to put Laura in the show. I hope they don't make so many episodes whit her as they did with Chalke on HIMYM. That was good in the beginning but after a 2/3 episodes it was a little but boring and she became annoying (but in scrubs she's very good).
Laura is great on That 70's show, also Mila is good but Laura is more HIMYM material than Mila. It's maybe because she played a different role in that 70's show than Mila. Laura was a more mature women idea, and Mila a more girly girl.

I can see Laura fitting in well with the HIMYM cast. Her character on "That '70s Show" had that smirky, smart-ass attitude that could be a great foil for Barney. Bring her on!

So if molly was the one one night stand, i recall in that episode that she was a brunette, and kind of a b-word … a little more Kunis-like … and everybody likes a little Kunis.
But Prepon is going to be Karen the girlfriend from college, and there is no real alluding to what she was like…. aside from a cold-hearted bitch that dumps Mosby. Prepon has great sitcom timing and should fit in really well. I wonder if the 5 episodes are gonna be the last 5, with another cliffhanger where Ted teds out with some grand gesture.

It totally makes way more sense for Prepon to Karen than Molly, seeing as how they already had an actress who looks nothing like Prepon play Molly in a flashback in First Time in New York.
I like Laura. She is hot and a good comedic actress. How tall is Josh Radnor? Because isn't Prepon like a giant?

Laura Prepon is one of the truly natural beautyiful people. She is also an excellent actress. The only thing I don't like about her is the fact that she smokes – this really turns me off. When I was puffing like a fool I would not date any girls that smoked. Thank God I kicked the habit over 30 years ago and I am still kicking!!!!!!!!!!!!
