Season 4, Episode 21: The Three Days Rule Placeholder
Tonight’s episode is “The Three Days Rule”, here’s the premise:
When Ted breaks Barney and Marshall’s “three days rule” by having a “text” relationship with a girl he just met, they play a cruel joke on him by pretending to be her
I’ll be staying late in the office to watch this episode live with some co-workers as it, more than any other, has special meaning for me. Let’s just say the plot is a little familiar. I’ll expound on that and more tomorrow when I post my full episode recap. Until then, leave your comments here.

Ah yes, I remember that story.

After liking a lot the last episode, I think we will have 4 awesome episodes to end this season. Also the plot is kinda familiar for me.
Too bad we won't have Lily

That's why this show is so awesome – everyone in their 20's and 30's can relate to it. For instance, I had an Oreo Theory way before Lily and Marshall had an Olive Theory.
Oreo Theory: I've always said I should marry someone who only likes the cream in Oreos, because I only like the cookies – see, mine even works better than the Olive Theory, because future husband and I can share the food instead of one of us just giving it up.

Nice theory, by the way.

Marshall Eriksen, star of Ted's gay dreams…..I'm cuddly bitch – DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!
Thank you and goodnight!
Geri | April 28, 2009 @ 12:57 am
I love the cream in the middle….would you marry a girl? lol j/k? lol or am I?

Great episode. This probably means nothing, but when old Ted tells the kids that when their mother gave him her number, she called him right away, I immediately thought of Trudy. This theory is way out there, but it would be a weird twist if Winnie Cooper ended up being the mother.

that would be a weird twist, but i really think the mother is some one we havent met yet

one of the best episodes of the season i think…
i cant remember laughing so hard constantly through an entire episode

Hahaha. Geri… too funny!

Good ol Robin being pissed about Ted not liking her 3 months to live idea.
Also did anyone notice how dejected Robin looked when Ted said that "if she doesn't like those things than she isn't the one."

i loved this episode. it was so much fun, i'm loving this barney-marshall pairing, they are great together. the best part was them competing to see which of them would be ted's choice.
i also liked barney's biblical references and jokes. and his impression of ted. marshall reactions to what stan was saying. robin had nice moments as well, my favourite being her obsession with her 3 months do live idea, i loved her 'blows your mind' gesture.

Congrats to Justin on getting his texting story into a mainstream sitcom!

This episode was just plain awesome. Serioulsy, it was so awesome I had to come share my feelings here!
It started brilliantly with Barney's speech about how Jesus started the three day rule and kept being tremendously great throughout the whole time. The only thing I didn't love was Ted's naked lady noise… sounded very fake. However, everything else was too great.
Loved Stan. Loved Robin. Loved Barney even more than usual.
Also liked how they didn't really approach any big issues but managed to slip in the episode stuff that may become relevant in the future.

I know that´s weird… bt I had a boyfriend that did that noise!!! But not for naked girls (well at least i think so… i guess that´s something we wouldn´t share…) just for general funny stuff he reminded out of nothing!
And I just have to say! Holi (with an "i") in Brasil, Marshall´s Brasil T-shirt at other episode and Barney´s reference to having sex at Rio´s beaches makes me happy!
Rio de Janeiro ROCKS!!!!

I was hoping for at least a little Swingers referencing considering the subject matter, but even without that…awesome episode.

I loved this episode, the writers are on a roll here. I was scared when they said they would have the show be more in the sitcom format, but this is great. I can't wait till the last few episodes.
@FranciscaCat
I disagree, I loved Ted's naked lady noise. It goes well with him be like a "dad" with the corny jokes, because the noise reminded me of a creepy old man.

i wrote a blog recently about the text trick – http://www.clevelandsaplum.com/2009/04/step-by-st... – proving that i'm obviously cool enough to become a part of the cast. haha.
also, what was with robin digging the three months to live thing?? interesting….
Amy | April 28, 2009 @ 5:25 am
Yea plus Trudy was an accidental call. He thought he was calling Robin… so it loses its romance

The recap is on time this week y'all. Please leave further comments there.

Hmm…talk to me when I turn 40.
jen209 | April 28, 2009 @ 1:31 pm
Out of all the possibilities so far, I like Trudy the best for the mother. But I agree it'll probably be someone new.
Mike | April 28, 2009 @ 2:08 pm
I never thought it was an accidental call, but either way, that wasn't the call I was refering to. In the bathroom, immediately after Trudy puts her number in the phone and hands it back to him,Ted calls her, it rings, and he says "Hey, it works" He literally called her right away. That said, I also agree that it will probably be someone we haven't met yet.
