Season 5, Episode 2: Double Date Preview

Lindsay Sloane

The lady you see above is Ted’s blind date Jen, played by Lindsay Sloane. If she looks familiar and you’re an Entourage fan you’ll remember her as the girl Vince bedded, liked, then was rejected by upon learning she only hooked up with him because he was on her celebrity list.

More hilarity that might or might not ensue:

  • Barney takes Marshall, and Robin to a strip club where they find a stripper who looks almost exactly like Lily. (Explains some of the pictures I posted before the premiere).
  • While on a blind date, Ted and Jen realize they’ve met before—on the exact same blind date seven years ago. They decide to retrace their steps and correct each others’ mistakes in an effort to change the outcome of the current evening.
  • Marshall has a naughty dream about a sexy delivery lady.

oh and she was "big red" in bring it on. you kind of see that girl in a lot of movies/shows without her ever being the leading lady. sad, she's good!

she's the girl from the wedding shot with the cats, right`? excited to see how they're gonna make that crazy thing happen. or maybe she's just a cat person which ted hates so he imagines their wedding that way

  8.  BGeo | September 27, 2009 @ 8:34 pm

totally skipped over the seven years part

  9.  Jenn | September 28, 2009 @ 4:51 am

I'm guessing that since they're fixing things about each other, he didn't like how much she talked about her cats.

Mother of God….Lesbian Robin and Mustache Marshall were awesome.

  11.  BGeo | September 29, 2009 @ 12:33 am

hahaha best thing I have seen in a while

  12.  kevin Overby | September 29, 2009 @ 12:35 am

I was totally expecting them to show the woman that looked like marshall during the episode with the cheerleader effect…however mustache marshall was hilarious.

  13.  TheMix | September 29, 2009 @ 12:37 am

I'm also looking forward to the other 2 dopplegangers we'll be getting.

  14.  BGeo | September 29, 2009 @ 12:40 am

Kind of a "Slapsgiving day like" teaser for the rest of series

  15.  BGeo | September 29, 2009 @ 12:46 am

Kind of a "Slap Bet" like teaser for the rest of the series

  16.  Johnny | September 29, 2009 @ 12:50 am

Yikes. This was the first episode of the series I didn't even chuckle at. The Ted and Jane story was sweet, but the jokes were just weak, especially compared to last week. Here's hoping it's merely an aberration.

  17.  John Darc | September 29, 2009 @ 12:52 am

I thought he never showed up to the Milk blind date?

  18.  John Darc | September 29, 2009 @ 12:53 am

Probably Barney's and Ted's. Maybe something to do with The Wedding Bride?

  19.  John Darc | September 29, 2009 @ 12:53 am

When Ted mentioned Barney's previous kidnappings, I thought they would flash back to "Sweet Taste of Liberty"

  20.  John Darc | September 29, 2009 @ 12:54 am

If what I heard is true, this episode was a holdover from a previous season. They wanted to do the "7 years apart same date" thing but couldn't fit it until now.

  21.  TheMix | September 29, 2009 @ 1:05 am

Well he did say "the other two", so ya….that's what I'd guess.

  22.  ev. mosby. | September 29, 2009 @ 1:37 am

I kinda wish Ted was more involved with the group in this episode. We're always getting the two couples now spending more time together and him just going about on his own. Hope it doesn't happen too often. Didn't really think this week's as funny as the previous one (thought Marshall's fantasy was a little long-winded). But Lesbian Robin..!! LOL.

  23.  Lucas | September 29, 2009 @ 1:50 am

The whole fantasy thing of Marshall was done before on King of Queens in 2004. Doug is having fantasies in his sleep and Kari questions him about it when he is awake. He explains to her that to avoid feeling like he is cheating on her he fantasizes that she has died from some sort of event or ailment.

You can see it in this clip starting at the 5:15 mark.

  24.  Kooper | September 29, 2009 @ 2:33 am

I totally disagree. I thought it was one of the funniest I have seen. It is up there with Naked Man and Mary the Paralegal. They had what I love about the show. Recuring Jokes, story telling between the characters and the possibility of Philantropist Barney or Bowler Ted.

  25.  Kooper | September 29, 2009 @ 2:41 am

I wish they had said The other two and left it like that. Then we would have 4 to wait for.

  26.  TheMix | September 29, 2009 @ 3:08 am

Part of me wants to agree….and part disagrees. I too always love to see the group more involved with Ted, but at the same time, you've got one married couple and one relationship. It's kind of normal for the single guy to break off and start to feel a bit out of the norm compared to the rest of the group. We certainly already saw that when Ted was with Robin and Marshall with Lily….Barney kind of broke-off and was doing his own thing. I mean I love seeing the group together and all, but it's not really logical for him to want to be around two couples. At least not at the beginning. I think within an episode or two he'll be coming back to them looking for advice or help. That's kind of the way Ted does things…..he thinks about things to much, realizes that he can't solve them, then immediately comes to the group to figure them out.

  27.  Leigh | September 29, 2009 @ 3:56 am

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed with Robin tonight. I thought she would be way cooler with the strip club. I know that they're in a relationship now, but I expected both of them to retain their coolness. Hopefully she doesn't stay a buzzkill for the rest of the season…their bro-ness is the best part of BRo!!

  28.  Anthony | September 29, 2009 @ 4:30 am

Concept might be a holdover, but the episode certainly isn't. Barney and Robin are dating!

  29.  Spencer | September 29, 2009 @ 4:49 am

Anyone know the song playing while Ted & Jen are on the roof?

  30.  TheMix | September 29, 2009 @ 6:18 am
