Law School Brad (Joe Manganiello) Picked for New Bays/Thomas Project

The show goes off new episodes for a couple weeks and I fall apart as a blogger. It was released recently that CBS has ordered a pilot for a new sitcom called Livin’ on a Prayer. The show follows a dating couple taking the next step in their lives. Sound familiar? That’d be because it comes from Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly who write for How I Met Your Mother. Bays and Thomas are also involved.

It would seem that Manganiello impressed the creators with his time playing Brad, Marshall’s law school buddy/man-date partner as he’s just been cast as one of the leads for the Livin’ on a Prayer pilot. Manganiello will play “Doug, a former high-school football star turned ‘good-guy’ husband and father” says The Hollywood Reporter.

I’d be remiss not to mention Manganiello’s other recent casting. He’ll be appearing on HBO’s True Blood as werewolf Alcide Herveaux. The internet is quite a twitter about this. Most headlines for the Livin’ on a Prayer news cite him as “True Blood’s Joe Manganiello”. I’m almost more excited about this. I love me some True Blood in a very guilty-pleasure way and I’ll be interested to see this character though I’m a little disappointed now that werewolves seem intrinsically tied in with vampires at this point. Also of note, werewolves.com has some amazing header design.

I’m excited for the new show. What do you guys think? Manganiello is pretty great, I’ve enjoyed him wherever he pops up.

PS. The photo is for all the lady-readers who pleasantly put up with my unending love for Rachel Bilson and all her photos.

    AWESOME!

I read it some weeks ago about this new series. Although I think it’s not so good to make 2 shows “creative and slightly simillar”, it’s good to know that Bays and Thomas are involved. Maybe this will be another hit :)

i also like his character on HIMYM a lot!
maybe on a leading role we’ll be able to see his true ability as an actor!

    let’s wait and see :)

That is one fine piece of man! And I also really enjoy the character of Brad. Since I know that the HIMYM team is involved I would definitely give this show a shot. I kind of hope they change the title though. I just think it’s kind of cheesy to name a show after a Bon Jovi song.

I wonder if they’re still going to make the show that’s set in Pittsburgh? I’ll definitely give both shows a chance if I’m able to watch them.

    Sounds great.

However, Rachel Bilson picture was not even nearly as provocative as this picture. If I remember, wasnt it her face. The guys of this site demand a clothed picture of Brad or just his face. LOL

    Thats a good looking bro.

Read about this new show a couple of weeks ago, but they aren’t sure of the title yet, as it may result in the show paying royalties to Bon Jovi.

Regardless I am psyched for this show

oh that is one juicy picture, thanks jd!!

i’m glad joe’s getting more work and i think kang and the others will make a good team. i just wish he would pop in on HIMYM more and I worry that this new show will split the focus. Season 5 has been less than stellar and I can only hope that Kang and the rest of the team don’t drop the ball on what has been a great show so far.

I just have to say, because I am a photographer, that Jo has so many goosebumps that they either dunked him in water and it was super cold outside or they got him wet and blew him with a fan. I love it. I could use a fan right about now, myself….. j/k.
