Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay Trailer
Warning: this trailer is restricted and has naughty language and some nudity. There’s another trailer thats a bit cleaner (and, to me, better) here.
What do we think? I’ve actually never seen the first one. It looks like Neil Patrick Harris is a riot in the movies though. I’m a big John Cho fan so I might have to check this out.
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay comes out on April 25, 2008.

Jason Segel - Forgetting Sarah Marshall Trailer
This movie is going to be awesome. It looks like Sad Marshall from last year but without the moral hangups of eventually going back to Lily. There’s a few great quotes even from the trailer.
“Sarah, I swear to God, I’ll jump in the lake like a merman.”
“Would you like to pick the outfit you break up with me in?”

Jason Segel and Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man

All over the news this week was the casting of Paul Rudd and (potentially) Jason Segel (Marshall, duh) in a new movie called I Love You, Man. It looks like another movie in the vein of 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Old School.
Paul Rudd is set to star in the comedy “I Love You, Man,” directed and written by John Hamburg for DreamWorks.
Jason Segel is in final negotiations to also star in the film, which centers on a man who seeks out a male friend to serve as the best man at his wedding. Rudd will play the soon-to-be betrothed, with Segel as his best man.
Rudd and Segel worked together on Knocked Up (Segel slammed the door in Rudd’s face).
Jason Segel is a busy man. I wonder if he’s finished Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which he wrote and stars in. With that, his work on How I Met Your Mother, and now this, that won’t leave much time for doing the robot.

From the archives: The Confrontation
I posted this a long time ago but it’s been popping up on the Internet and other blogs lately for some reason. It’s awesome enough to warrant a re-post.
I know the readers here are classy so I’m sure we’re all sophisticated fans of Broadway productions. In case you aren’t familiar with Les Mis, I cover it in more detail in the original post.
Enjoy.

Neil Patrick Harris Donates His Winnings to Charity
I mentioned last week that Neil Patrick Harris was going on Wheel of Fortune and would be playing for charity. He did pretty well for himself and donated all his winnings to Children International.
Neil Patrick Harris, star of the U.S. sit-com “How I Met Your Mother,” donated the $60,452 he won on the game show “Wheel of Fortune” to a children’s charity.
Congratulations Neil and congratulations Children International.

How Will the Writer’s Strike Affect How I Met Your Mother?

It looks like HIMYM will not suffer as much or as immediately as some of the other shows on TV. Last week the cast finished filming all the written scripts before the strike started. This positions the show to continually serve up new episodes, possibly well into December. A potential blessing in disguise–if this is the only new show, maybe it will gain a lot of new viewers!
The cast has been positive. Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders both showed up outside the picket lines this week to pass out food and keep people company.
In related news, Neil Patrick Harris will appear on The Price is Right Wheel of Fortune next week, playing for charity this time rather than discovering his father (who is definitely NOT Drew Carrey Pat Sajak). I’m not sure of the exact day but The episode will air Monday Nov 12 so keep your eyes peeled to see if Neil can clean house the same way Barney did last season.

UPDATE: Apparently I can’t read properly, which Voltaire was kind enough to point out. Good call.

What Would NPH Do?

There is a wonderful new poster for Harold & Kumar 2. It’s clear that our friend Neil Patrick Harris will be making another appearance. I love the bad-ass leather jacket. To quote Ted Mosby:
“There’s nothing gay about a horse. There’s nothing gay about a horn. But put them together, and you’ve got a unicorn.”

Happy Halloween
On this day I bring you a treat. Josh Radnor and Neil Patrick Harris in full costume. I have to say, Neil is looking damn creepy as that clown:

Neil Patrick Harris in Sweeney Todd
The 2006 revival of Sweeney Todd featured the Barnicle in the roll of Tobias, Mrs. Lovett’s developmentally challenged son. I’m not as familiar with this story as I am Les Mis but there is a great explanation of the entire opera over on this page (which is also where I found the video.)
What a great voice NPH has! It’s strange to see him in a serious roll, especially on the stage. This is much better than his performance in Stuff. Throughout the song I expected him to pull out a water gun or start saying “moist”.

Neil Patrick Harris is The Flash

The man behind Barney lends his voice to the character of Barry Allen/The Flash in the new animated direct-to-DVD film Justice League: The New Frontier. Additional voice talent comes from David Boreanaz, Lucy Lawless, Brooke Shields, and Jeremy Sisto.
