Law School Brad (Joe Manganiello) Picked for New Bays/Thomas Project

The show goes off new episodes for a couple weeks and I fall apart as a blogger. It was released recently that CBS has ordered a pilot for a new sitcom called Livin’ on a Prayer. The show follows a dating couple taking the next step in their lives. Sound familiar? That’d be because it comes from Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly who write for How I Met Your Mother. Bays and Thomas are also involved.
It would seem that Manganiello impressed the creators with his time playing Brad, Marshall’s law school buddy/man-date partner as he’s just been cast as one of the leads for the Livin’ on a Prayer pilot. Manganiello will play “Doug, a former high-school football star turned ‘good-guy’ husband and father” says The Hollywood Reporter.
I’d be remiss not to mention Manganiello’s other recent casting. He’ll be appearing on HBO’s True Blood as werewolf Alcide Herveaux. The internet is quite a twitter about this. Most headlines for the Livin’ on a Prayer news cite him as “True Blood’s Joe Manganiello”. I’m almost more excited about this. I love me some True Blood in a very guilty-pleasure way and I’ll be interested to see this character though I’m a little disappointed now that werewolves seem intrinsically tied in with vampires at this point. Also of note, werewolves.com has some amazing header design.
I’m excited for the new show. What do you guys think? Manganiello is pretty great, I’ve enjoyed him wherever he pops up.
PS. The photo is for all the lady-readers who pleasantly put up with my unending love for Rachel Bilson and all her photos.
Guest Star News: How I Met Your Mother Knows When To Hold ‘Em

The reports have started for the gueststars set to appear in season 5. The show has become almost meta with its casting, and the newest guest star won’t disappoint. TV Guide reports Kenny Rogers will join the cast for the October 19th episode:
in which [Rogers] will perform a “Marley & Me-type” song, entitled “Goodbye, Sparky.” The Oct. 19th episode, “Dual Citizenship,” sees Ted and Marshall hit the road for Chicago to try and recreate a special college memory. Lily tags along at the last minute and the trio’s journey leads to Rogers’ performance
It is unsure if Rogers will play himself.
TV Guide also reveals that the 100th episode will feature not only Rachel Bilson but Tim Gunn will make an appearance as Barney’s tailor. How perfect is that?
Editor’s note: sure we already knew about Bilson but wouldn’t you rather look at her than either of these dudes?

Casting News: Rachel Bilson to Join How I Met Your Mother

I’m too busy to go into how awesome this is or how excited I am but wanted to share the news that Rachel Bilson has been cast for the infamous 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother. Rumors are already flying that she’s the mother (I don’t think so) as well as rumors that the episode will be a musical (I’ll also believe that when I see it). Bilson’s people say her role won’t be reoccurring, but I don’t believe that either. I’m full of skepticism today! And excitement: I love Bilson and she was at the top of the poll conducted on this very site as to who the mother should be.
What do you guys think? About Bilson, about the 100th episode, about musicals, about anything.
I’ll probably come back later and post more effusive love for Bilson.
Season 5, Episode 2: Double Date Discussion

Have we all not thought about having the opportunity Ted and Jen got to have tonight? How many dates have we thought back on, realizing in hindsight all the things we could’ve done better, the things we could’ve said or not said, the missed opportunities? How often do we wonder what today would be like if we had done things differently? We never get to see what wonderful life we could have had but tonight Ted did.

Season 5, Episode 2: Double Date Preview

The lady you see above is Ted’s blind date Jen, played by Lindsay Sloane. If she looks familiar and you’re an Entourage fan you’ll remember her as the girl Vince bedded, liked, then was rejected by upon learning she only hooked up with him because he was on her celebrity list.
More hilarity that might or might not ensue:
- Barney takes Marshall, and Robin to a strip club where they find a stripper who looks almost exactly like Lily. (Explains some of the pictures I posted before the premiere).
- While on a blind date, Ted and Jen realize they’ve met beforeāon the exact same blind date seven years ago. They decide to retrace their steps and correct each others’ mistakes in an effort to change the outcome of the current evening.
- Marshall has a naughty dream about a sexy delivery lady.
