I could sit down and write a recap that talked about how casually, and at the same time deftly, the writers work modern technology and culture into their humor, how it keeps the jokes fresh and the show as a whole agile and new. I could talk about the faceted story line that dealt with desire, empathy, pathos, cruelty, and bro-love. I could go on and on about how watching NPH and Jason Segel read off the NFL draft order would be funnier then anything Two and a Half Men could churn out.

I could tell the story of why tonight’s episode is special to me, and why I cannot review it unbiasedly. Yeah, that’s better.

Ever since last season we’ve all been wondering what the real story is with The Goat. We now know why Robin is living in the apartment, but we have yet to discover the calamity that ensued on that fateful night.

Many fans, including myself, were worried that with two seasons of build up, the final payoff would never deliver. Hoping to assuage some fears I contacted series co-creator Carter Bays and asked him for any hints towards what we could expect.
