Interviews with the Cast

While I was patiently waiting my turn to meet and chat with the cast, I watched them give interviews last week. I didn’t realize those interviews were for TV Guide. Check them out:

Neil Patrick Harris:

Josh Radnor:

Alyson Hannigan:

Cobie Smulders:

Carter Bays and Pam Fryman:

Read more about that night, from TV Guide’s point of view and see all their How I Met Your Mother coverage.

The How I Met Your Mother Dictionary

No episode last night due to the real Final Four (which apparently is about basketball and not women.) Next week new episodes return with The Simmons Report, a Marshall-centric episode. That’ll coincide nicely with a certain movie of his that I hear is coming out soon.

Just because there was no episode doesn’t mean we have nothing to talk about! I found a great promo from CBS on YouTube today. It’s called “The HIMYM Dictionary” and it’s really just a montage of clips edited together. It’s pretty funny though and serves the purpose—I’m excited to watch the show.

So Ted was using the C word in How Lily Stole Christmas last year. I’d always kind of suspected that but it had never been confirmed. See you next Tuesday for the new episode recap. Until then, I’ve got some Sarah Marshall Updates, and some legacy Season vs Season coming out later this week. Stay tuned.

Countdown to HIMYM 1: The Many Faces of Charlene Amoia

wendythewaitress.jpg

We all know and love her as Wendy the Waitress but as several readers pointed out, Charlene Amoia pops up in a lot of commercials and guest appearances on other shows. Here is a random smattering going from most recognizable to least-in-English. Enjoy. The pictures at the bottom are just for you as well.

Speed Reel

Here is a reel from Amoia’s agency. It has clips from My Boys, The Young and the Restless, How I Met Your Mother, and Joey. Also, her information is at the end in case anyone is looking to cast her in something.

Wal-Mart

This is the first time I noticed her outside of HIMYM. I love the old guy in this spot.

My Boys

Here’s the extended clip from My Boys where Charlene gets hit on by Mario and Luigi’s younger brother Esteban.

Joey

Charlene is in Joey’s book club. Extended clip from the speed reel.

McDonalds

This is a surprisingly sexy commercial for the golden arches. Check out how she purrs “I like it cold”. Who could argue with that?

DCU Commercial

OK, this is a stretch but she looks cute and is smart about managing her money!

Meetic Commercial

I have no idea what Meetic even is. Is it a product? A show? A movie? It seems like it might be French. Keep watching past the initial part, it kicks over into English and gets very, very funny. It also has the song “Too Drunk to F***” by Nouvelle Vague (listen here).

Wash Day

Looking cute yet again. This guy is worse than Barney. Goldters? Cabana in Maui? Is this what happens to hot girls whilst they do their laundry?

There’s a few more videos with Amoia that aren’t as entertaining.

For you RSS’ers, this post is chuck-a-block full of YouTube videos so do click through to view them all.

FCC Okays Nudity On TV If It’s Alyson Hannigan

Yesterday was a little serious so let’s lighten up today with a little irreverence, How I Met Your Mother style.

Watch this clip from The Onion where an FCC representative details the differences between lewd and artistic displays of nudity on television. Where’s the line drawn? Right across Alyson Hannigan’s bosom.

My favorite moment:

“That would be acceptable?”
“That would be beautiful.”

Enjoy.

Neil Patrick Harris Interviews Ryan Reynolds

Neil Patrick Harris filled in for Regis Philbin on the day Ryan Reynolds was visiting. Friends in real life, the interview had a great give-and-take rhythm. I’m a huge fan of Reynolds, unabashedly so. I saw Definitely, Maybe and it’s actually very good.

Kudos to reader Misha who had some very nice things to say about the site, the show, and recommended I check out this clip. Thanks Misha!

PS. Who’s that annoying trophy wife sitting to NPH’s left? She reminds me of the woman at the bar who always follows up the funny thing someone says with the most boring statement you’ve ever heard and is met with only silence.

PPS. Reynolds is rumored to have been cast as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I’m all a twitter about the film since it also stars will.i.am, Liev Schreiber, and Taylor Kitsch (Gambit!!) It’s also directed by Gavin Hood (who’s been all artsy up till now making films like Tsotsi.) Hoo-ray!

PPPS. I wish there was a clip with better audio than this. At first, I thought maybe there was just a loud A.C. running in the background but it’s almost rhythmic which makes me think it’s actually some evil German techno beat.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Red Band Trailer

I haven’t watch this yet but I just found it and wanted to get it up for everyone to see. “Red Band” means the trailer is R rated so if you’re young or easily offended or at work, you’ve been warned. I’ll update once I watch it.

What do we think?

More on the movie here, here, and here.

Ted Mosby, Negotiator

There are a lot of videos about the writers strike deliberations. This is the first one I’ve seen with Josh Radnor however. He’s got his breakup beard and does not appreciate puppets.

Jason Segel - Forgetting Sarah Marshall Trailer

This movie is going to be awesome. It looks like Sad Marshall from last year but without the moral hangups of eventually going back to Lily. There’s a few great quotes even from the trailer.

“Sarah, I swear to God, I’ll jump in the lake like a merman.”
“Would you like to pick the outfit you break up with me in?”

From the archives: The Confrontation

I posted this a long time ago but it’s been popping up on the Internet and other blogs lately for some reason. It’s awesome enough to warrant a re-post.

I know the readers here are classy so I’m sure we’re all sophisticated fans of Broadway productions. In case you aren’t familiar with Les Mis, I cover it in more detail in the original post.

Enjoy.
